True growth, real impact.
For us, Garden for Growth is more than a garden, it’s a passion project. We’re in the early stages of building something that we hope will take root and grow for years to come. Together, we’re committed to seeing it thrive, one seed, one person, and one garden at a time.

Garden for Growth was founded by Clancy Dane, Principal Lawyer of Territory Criminal Lawyers, an avid gardener who donates his law firm’s profits to fund the project.
Our board brings together a diverse mix of experience and heart: Claire Hockin, a local legend and head of Legal Aid in Katherine; Dr Russell Marks, a published author, academic, and social justice advocate; and Brent Cooper, a chartered accountant and business adviser, known for his integrity and practical wisdom.
-
Garden for Growth began as a simple idea shared by a small group of friends in Katherine who wanted to use their skills to make a real difference. We saw the challenges our community faced, particularly the lack of therapeutic and engagement programs, and decided to start something that could help people reconnect, rebuild, and heal through horticulture.

Katherine might be a small town, but it’s the beating heart of a huge region, a place that supports remote communities across a massive area and carries an important role in Australia. We believe in its potential and in the strength of its people. That belief is what drives us to pour our time, energy, and resources into this project.
